The Australian Council of Jewish Schools under its original name of the Australian Co-ordinating Committee of Jewish Day Schools was established in 1982. The primary objective is to advance and promote Jewish education and training in Australian pre schools and day schools.
The member schools are encouraged to foster high quality academic learning in Jewish and general studies, coupled with an understanding and appreciation of citizenship. The schools provide students with an appreciation and understanding of their religion and cultural heritage, so that they can grow to be proud, knowledgeable, practising and involved members of their community and valued contributing members of Australian society.
In order to achieve this objective the Australian Council of Jewish Schools assists Members to streamline operations, processes and structures to optimise, improve and develop standards and services across Australian Jewish pre schools and day schools.
The Australian Council of Jewish Schools facilitates efficient governance, communication and compliance promoting shared resourcing between Australian Jewish pre schools and day schools to drive better Jewish educational outcomes and performances.
The Australian Council of Jewish Schools is the peak representative body of the Australian Jewish day schools.
